As Vietnam continues to grow in economic might and geographic importance, keeping track of what is going on here is more vital than ever. Despite that fact, this country of 97 million is chronically under-covered. As a freelance reporter based in Vietnam, I aim to cover the full range of developments here in the country, from hot-button social issues and VinFast’s global ambitions to tourism growth and energy policy.

There are two versions of the Vietnam Weekly: the free-to-read edition published every Friday morning, and the paid edition of the newsletter. This costs US$8/month or US$90/year and, in addition to the Friday updates, gives you access to weekly exclusive deep-dive articles, plus the full Vietnam Weekly archives dating back to mid-2020.

The paid version currently focuses on the ongoing anti-corruption campaign in both the private and public sectors, the energy transition, the economy, and VinFast.

Check out The Vietnam Weekly Podcast as well - it’s available on all major podcast platforms, in addition to YouTube.
