ArcelorMittal vs Vinfast is actually Mittal Steel vs BaoSteel. Vinfast stuck in the patent war between these 2 giants. We will see how it turn out and if vinfast can put the blame on Baosteel.
Has VinFast named Baosteel publicly? There generally cagey about suppliers from outside of Vietnam. I assume they wouldn’t want to be known for sourcing parts from China, even if everyone does.
Unfortunately, no surprises about either the Metro delays or VinFast's problems. The lack of management credibility throughout the entire Metro saga is stunning. As for VinFast, the entire enterprise was based on a simple thesis that growth in the electric car segment would be massive and sustainable. It's still probably a good bet in general, but VinFast seems to have taken bitten off more than they can chew. Trying to grow too fast in too many places at once, producing relatively low-quality products, and market communication and internal internal execution blunders all add up to an outlook that seems unlikely to pan out well for them. It's a shame because personally I'd like to see the Metro open and exapand, and it would be great if VinFast became successful, created lots of new jobs, and helped to improve the environment here in Vietnam.
Interesting
"Unpaid rent on a space in a mall in San Francisco..." Like every other business that has fled the city.

Vinfast is trying not to reveal the name, but per latest post on the subreddit, there are photos as well as Baosteel FB posts related to Vinfast.

I saw that as well - seems like pretty good evidence
Baosteel is known for stealing patents so I wouldn’t be surprised if Mittal steel want to indirectly sue Baosteel through Vinfast
